Product endorsement of the month:
Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in "Cocoa."

Moisturizes like a chapstick, looks like a lipstick (in a most fashionable brown color*), smells like peppermint.

*Because brown really is the new black, and I'm not even joking.

I always swear that I will wear lipstick more often, because it makes one look more "done" and often more professional, and then I buy yet another one, carry it around in my handbag, and then, just like all the preceding products, forget to put it on my lips. This one, because of its chapstick-y simpleness, actually gets worn. Daily. Can you believe it? I look like a woman who has remembered to put on lipstick.

Funny, I've discovered the same thing. I love it too, and wear it every day, and even reapply it often- which I never do with real lipstick. My color is "latte" and is beige/brown. Great minds think alike.

No kidding! I was wondering if I should add a second color, but "Latte" looked a little light for me. That's hilariously coincidental.

Hey, I'm thinking of coming down the week of the 25th. Can I flop at your pad?

HELL, YES!

Please! We'd love to have you...I mean, really, really love it.

Wow, I miss you so much, you don't know how happy the idea of having you in the guestroom for any length of time is making me, right now.

I'm not so bold - I like the Watermelon shade. :) Good stuff all around, though. I love Burt's Bees.

I started using their stuff (not everything, just the lip balms usually) when I worked at a health food store in 2005. The cool thing was that we had a huge mark-up on it because the products aren't really that expensive wholesale (compared to things like Dr. Hauschka, the other popular line we carried), so it was cheap with an employee discount.

I like the mint but sometimes I wish they had something more fruity. I love their cream blush (which they're discontinuing, I was told recently) and the eyeliner pencil (great for brows). I think some of their baby stuff is too scented... if you check them out on http://www.ewg.org and see how safe their products are - it's usually the darned scents that do them in, other than they they're great. (I'm on a big beauty product safety kick... I wash my face most days with the oil cleansing method of just olive oil).

LOL - and I think it's funny to be referred to as a fashionista... if only that was true!!! (I did actually attempt to style my hair this morning, I used hot rollers... I usually let it go wavy and wild).
