Election Day...and the news ticker on CNN comes out with this important breaking news:

Britney Spears files for divorce from her hip-hop musician/dancer husband, Keven Federline

Hee, hee...ho, ho...on election day, when a good handful of states, my own included, are voting on whether or not to protect and preserve the sanctity of marriage...ha ha...from the onslaught of same sex couples. Ah, ha, ha!

Oh, me...oh, my. I'm wiping tears from laughter, the irony is too beautiful. I thought for a moment I had switched channels and found a satirical report.

The other, real good news: it looks like AZ, at least, is saying "no" to our proposed homophobic descrimination amendment.

Yeah, and then Bill Schneider came out and said "Republican voters favor PUFF DADDY to be Britney's next husband by nearly 2 TO 1, while Democrats were split evenly over whether she should marry Justin Timberlake, or just go ahead and have a lesbian afair with Courtney Love!"

hey, all i can say is, around the office where everyone was tense and calling various people in various precincts and eagerly trying to get internal numbers from eight-gazillion sources, i couldn't think of any better news.

of course, smart move on the part of britney's people - i'm not sure *she* knew that there was an election going on, but they did pick the one day it would be most certainly buried in the news cycle.
