Mythbusters

My latest tv-over-the-internet fave is the show Mythbusters. I am hopelessly addicted. I especially like the practical episodes: they can blow things up and launch them from catapults all they want, but what I really want to know is how to escape from a car that's sinking underwater (many ways), or if eating poppyseed bagels can make you test a false positive on a drug test (they can).

Dan and I watch these episodes on Netflix, and both of us enjoy them. I surprised Dan the other night, however, with a dreamy sigh and a comment over Jamie. "Jamie's your guy?" he asked. "I would have thought Adam appealed more to the ladies, with his goofy off-beat sense of humor." Nope. For the purposes of celebrity crushes, I much prefer Jamie, with his dry humor and deadpan reactions.

You want to watch Brainiac, the early episodes with Richard Hammond.

Oh, actually, maybe not. They tend to use insane experiments to demonstrate actual scientific principles (including electric circuits, pendulums, entropy, &c.) but they also just blow things up. It's still my favourite science show though.

You might also get a kick out of Look Around You, which is not about science at all.

Hmmmm...I hadn't even noticed--maybe because I live in OCD-land, myself.....hmmm, again. Maybe I've gotten so accustomed to it that without realizing it, cleanliness fetishes in men have become a subconscious turn-on, for me. Veeery eeeenteresting observation.

Man, does anyone else think that Jamie is totally 110% gay??

The "beer goggles" ep where they had to view faces of the opposite gender and rate them on their attractiveness was hilarious. Adam and Kari would say things like "He/she's hot! She/he has a cute smile" and Jamie would say things like "This woman appears to be healthy and has straight teeth, a sign of good genes..." soooo unnatural!
